Founder
He is an alumnus of Bangalore medical college where he did his MBBS in 1978. He did his ophthalmology residency in Minto Ophthalmic Hospital, Bangalore medical college in 1982. He started his ophthalmology practice in a small clinic in the eighties. He had a great vision to grow, foresight to anticipate future needs and enthusiasm to develop. The hospital was shifted to the current building in October 1993. Once only an eye clinic became a multi specialty eye hospital and started growing year by year. To meet the growing demand for quality eye care, modern sophisticated equipments were acquired. He has actively encouraged development of various subspecialities in Narayana Nethralaya and has been responsible for transformation of Narayana Nethralaya as the largest superspeciality eye hospital in Karnataka. He is an accomplished cataract and phacoemulsification surgeon. He is the Founder of Narayana Nethralaya.

Visited Narayana Nethralaya for my Father’s Cataract operation and this was our first time here. We started off with Doctor Bhujang Shetty sir and from then on everything was under one roof. The hospitality of the staff, lab technicians, insurance and the doctors is really good. Dr Rohitha Nayak took care of the whole operation and had a good follow-up the next day. The whole post operation measures are guided well and we have been asked to come for few more follow-ups. My father is also a part of Reverse diabetic therapy and we are seeing positive results within a month. I’m glad to have chosen Narayana Nethralaya for my family and hope they continue the same service and hospitality
